MG has had a troubled history since its inception in 1924. The brand became recognisable to most UK mainstream motorists, when the MGF was launched under BMW ownership in 1995. In 2000 BMW sold MG to the Rover group, who modified their Rover line up to hold the MG badge, Rover however did not do enough for the brand to keep it out of going into administration in 2005. Post 2005 the MG Rover Group was purchased by NAC, china’s oldest car maker. NAC then merged with SAIC, China’s largest car producer.
Today, the MG range encompassed a supermini - the MG3, a saloon - the MG6 and an SUV - the GS, although there are still lots of older examples on the road.
